No-load Misfire Puzzle

Took it for a spin tonight. Disconnected vacuum line to dist. The problem is gone. Will try to adjust the condition out of it tomorrow. In reality, I need a new distributor. This one is only 41 years old, and a little worn. Thanks all for the good input. What a great forum. Howard

there ya go.

now adjust the vac canister [after checking what total timing is and then +vac]
take 2* out at a time of vac advance.

you really need to time it, you could just be too far advanced for the 'as is distributor's setup, time it and report.

Can't find my timing light. Suspect one of my boys have it. May be a day or so, before doing the timing.

Vacuum can might have a hole in it.
Dist cap might have coroded between # 5-7.
Plug wires 5-7 might be jumping spark.
More than likely vacuum can has a hole if you disconect line and the problem goe's away.
