An annoying story from the old days!!!
One day in the RADAR shop, after work (we had "the duty" so had to stay overnight, my buddy was sitting on the Chief's chair. He had the chair somehow backed up against a low filing cabinet and was perched on top of the backrest rim, with his feet on the seat. Typical swivel office arm chair. It all came out from under him and SNAPPED OFF THE ADJUSTER SCREW!!!
The screw turned out to be cast, so I ran it over to the auto hobby shop (my part time job) and grabbed a friend who was a better welder than me, and we welded that damn thing up.
When we were both discharged at some point later, that thing was still hanging together. The chief WAS NOT A SMALL BOY!!!!
