The VR1 usually goes on sale around April/ may. At least it has the last few years

I think all oils are over priced! including rotella! I used to use rotella but changed when I heard that about less zinc. Again I don't know how true that is But the VR1 I buy from autozone is $6.15 a quart only about a $1.50 more then rotella. At 5 quarts That's $7.50 For piece of mind. ill lay the extra coin. Don't hate me for it. I don't doubt the rotella is good stuff. That's what I run In my cummings diesel work truck with 250k on it.

you can use whatever you want and i wont hate you for it lol . i get a 5 litre jug for 17.50 but i buy 50 jugs a crack .

Florence says use Wesson.

It's not easy to keep up with the latest in motor oils. Many diesel oils have minimized zinc content because the newer diesels have catalytic converters that aren't compatible with it.
I've used Amsoil for many tears with great results. They have a variety of high zinc oils to choose from. Pricing can vary from retail, to finding a dealer who may offer a discount to taking advantage of some direct purchase options from Amsoil.
