One for the 318 guys.

A good friend of mine had a early 70's barracuda with a 225 slant 6. It was B5 blue exterior with a blue interior. We both were in high school at the time, I wish that one of us would have kept it as I learned later that it's a rare car.

Yep, mid-'80's there was a light blue /6 'cuda at the end of a former friend's street. In the weeds, needed love then, rare fo' sho'.

In 1970 a neighbor girl bought a new purple Barracuda convertible. It was a Slant 6 3 speed.

70 Barracuda convertible 225 3 speed only 65 built. Purple? 1 of 1 or 1 of a very few.

I think my sons is a 1973 but I’ll have to ask again. Originally a 340 four speed but it had a modified 360 in it now. He did get the 340 with it when he bought it this year.

Looks like a 74 just because of the thickness of rubber on the bumper guards but 74's came with 360's. The 340's were discontinued in 73. Supposedly.

I think Plymouth did a nice job with the 72-74 Cuda's. Dodge muffed up the front ends those years with the Challengers. And I owned 2.

i agree those cudas still looks great dont care for the challengers
not a fan of anything after 1971 except 72-74 cuda and the 72 duster should have left the recessed tail lights though
i always said real muscle cars ended in 1971 ive softended some with age to each there own
the 72 351-c still had good power the 71 351-c was a legit mid to high 13 car pulled much higher 1/4 mile mph then all small blocks 13.7@104mph

My Cuda is a 72 340 4 speed.
Has a 70 wing and early style center caps.
I like the 72 stripe better then the 73-74 as well as mentioned the 72 does not have the extended bumpers or huge guards.

I actually like the 72-74 Barracuda front and rear styling better than the 70 or 71.

...and I like the rear lights on the 72-74 Challenger better then 70 or 71.

That 70 Challenger front end is tough to beat though.

You can tone down the "frowny face" with paint and trim mods, but it's still "no contest".

I do like those 72-74 strobe stripes and gills.

I'm thinking about putting them on my Dakota R/T.

Years ago, I bought a 74 Cuda 360 from the late Ken Mosier of Finer Details in Indy. It was a triple black car like your son's and was rust free. I bought it in 2007, but never got around to restoring it. Sold it in 2019, but now I wish I had kept it. Last I heard, the guy I sold it to flipped it to a guy in Greenville, SC who is making it into some kind of Pro Street deal with a Gen III Hemi. Hopefully, he won't F it up too bad! :BangHead:

i had a 71 318 cuda back in the 90s just like in my avatar. number 1 dumb *** of my life was letting it go! had a 71 340 4 speed duster parked right beside too,..thats number 2 dumb *** of my life!!!

Always some wise *** with a red x. No response with what they think is the correct answer though. :BangHead: :BangHead:

Yeah alot of assholery here...I've been on forums where folks are more thick skinned for sure.

OP, that Barracuda is a candidate for a 360 swap :) I don't really get into the 70s Mopars the ones where the horsepower dropped, the Log bumpers and the 8 1.4 rear etc. I do believe the earlier stuff is a better investment. The beefier drivetrains if you will. ( gee i hope that was nice enough?)

I agree. If you leave a red X have the courtesy to explain why.
