One race and i'm done for the season.

I just thought about this.......I thing i know when the crack started. when i was messing with that Demon carb, it was to lean at the top of the rpm and would start to pop(banging is probably a better description) I had to jet it up a lot to fix the problem.

There is all ways one cylinder that's leaner, then the rest and that cyl must of been #4.

That is such an easy repair.

Get that welder out and get to work. You only learn by doing and your buddy might not be around the next time you need something welded.

Tom
Yeah i know but i have only welded Once in my live and it was to weld the tail light Bracket back on my car trailer that had been torn off. I don't want people to see a bugger weld on top of another bugger weld on top of another one. my trailer was at least 1/8 in steel. 25+ year old exhaust......Yeah i'm chicken.

Practice welding on something the same gauge metal.
Its the only way you will learn how to do it.

Agree. But my" to do list" is vary long, and learning how,......... well, is kinda low on that list. I know i need to bump it up on my list, but there is always something more impotent above it on that list.

A garage that has more then two lights in it, a garage that's not so hot in the summer, and not so cold in the winter, so i can work in it is Way Way above learning how to weld.

I just got finished installing 4 outlets in my garage. 2 of them on a 20 amp circuit so i can use my 110 mig welder.....or start to us it any ways.

I have a long to-do list also.
My garage is tiny, super tiny with not level wood floors, but it does have alot of lights, and outlets, and good heat.
But it is easier to do small projects in the garage, and install them outside.
It takes time.

Header welded up, installed and loaded on the trailer.

I can't believe that cracked header affected the tune of my motor that much..............Its the only thing that changed from the last time i raced..................

I also ran a bore scope down each spark plug hole.
Was happy to see the burn pattern/ carbon, covers 95% of the piston top.
These RHS head are pretty efficient............or maybe the 12.87:1 Compression has something to do with it.

Sorry if i implied that he was a "Professional  welder.
Yes, and i'm happy with it.

Lifes to short to build show cars for the racetrack
Thats a good way to lose money on a car instead of make money
If it ain’t fun or making money it’s pretty much chasing your tail
