Opinion on hood color?

I have a 70 Swinger and I like the black hood insert. But the hood isn't all black, it is only the center between the raised ribs in the bodywork. I beleive it is an anti glare option like used in Trans Am road racing. It isn't necessarily satin. I will most likely do my hood body color, but I like either way if its done correctly with the anti glare paint. then it becomes functional IMO.

I once saw a 71 duster with a white interior and white stripes but with the black hood that carries over the fenders and around the side glass with the 340 wedge callout , it just looked wrong. Somebody had actually ordered it like that , perhaps they figured the hood black out would be white when they order white interior and stripes??? Recipe for cancelled order/car stay in dealer lot long...Do a google image search .....

That looks correct to me. It is an anti glare paint on the hood. I cant say for sure, I wasn't an adult in 71, but I was breathing...
