He wants to have the car picked up with a shipping co.Man I do not know what to do now doesn't sound to safe.
SCAM!
I just sold my Dart Sport to a A-body member.
Cancelled the Craigslist ad.
Recieved an email from a someone wanting to know if the car was still available & final asking price.
Thought it was a scam, so I told them it was still for sale & the price was $150,000.00.
He said that was okay, but was out of the country & if I would provide my information, he would pay me through PayPal.
He would send a transport truck after the money is in my account.
I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I know when I'm being scammed.
No one pays 150K sight unseen for anything.
There was a story on the local news about people being paid & the money showing up in there accounts. The check that was deposited came back insufficiate & leaving the person on the hook for the bad check, transfer, etc.
I have used PayPal for buying & selling parts.
Only got burned one time in the last 8-years.
I had sold a heater box assembly, shipped it with the carrier the customer preferred (cheapest) to Canada.
The person filed a dispute thru PayPal, stating that it had been damaged during shipping.
I had told him since he selected the carrier, that I would not be responsible for condition.
He was ok with that at the time of the purchase.
Well, I didn't get paid & I didn't get the damaged part back.
I guess my question is, since I never recieved pics of the damage & PayPal returned his money, maybe it was a scam?
With P/P the burden of proof was on the seller, not the buyer.
I still use P/P, but I check my balances often.
