I need to know the pinion offset for the A-body 8 3/4 rearend? Can anybody help with this. Thanks

P.S I,m having a c-body rear shortened.

After getting under my car(66 Dart)looking at the centersection, the yoke seems to look about 1 1/2 inches to the pass. side. This is what I mean about the offset.Does anybody know the correct measurement. The guy doing my rear wants to know so he can center it properly. Thanks

The car is 90% race,10% street

Tell him to imagine that the yoke is centered, 1 7/8" more toward the center, then measure for everything.

Does a 66 not have the engine offset in the chassis?

If it doesn't disregard this:

Cut the tubes so they are even length from the banjo centerline. You'll get the proper, IIRC, 1 3/16 offset. It's in the pumpkin. DO NOT cut the axle tubes different lengths.

I have a stainless gauge that I use which has the pinion centerline on it.
