Pro Touring 10K

Squeezed in a little time to do some more work on the Dash. I believe I will build a stainless mesh panel to put behind the dimples. And I believe the glove box will go. Should look nice once its body worked and painted.

More changes on the way. Well I just couldn't resist any more. the old front suspension is out. The new HDK front suspension will be going in. Denny (hemidenny) was kind enough to send me one of his early A body K frame to use as a mock up. So here we go. Taking measurements from the center line of the front K frame mounting hole. I'm was pleased to find the HDK unit will fit with out much fuss using the SRT4 motor set up I have. I have moved the motor as far back in the engine compartment as I can leaving about 1" of clearance to the fire wall. The front of the transmission tunnel will need a little work to clear the bell housing. But not a huge amount of cutting will be needed. A small recess to the oil pan will be all that's needed to clear the rack. The X on the floor is were the shifter will be. Just waiting on the motor plate to be water jetted and I will get this thing mounted in place.

I'm liking that dash. Keep up the good work and creativity!

HDK mock up looking good. I always like seeing the progress and quality of this build.

Thanks guys. Like following along with your builds as well. Both builds are to notch work. I hope to finish up a car at the shop that needs to go this weekend then I can dedicate a lot more time to my project.

the DCR cnc ported head showed up on Saturday.

Finally had time to move the shop around and get my car out of the corner pocket of the shop. Finally I can really make some progress. It finally made it back to the body shop side.

Rich, Lets get these finished up so we can meet up over the summer.

Tonight just picking up the loose ends from where I stopped on any of the body work I would say 12-15 months ago. It felt good just to blow all the dust off. Take note of where I left off and start some filler work again.

i still see dust LOL

Yeah but at least it's on the floor and not on the car.LOL

Still plugging away. Waiting on a bunch of parts to come in. So trying to finish up what I can and still make some progress with out back up to redo something I have to far along. If you are following this thread you can see I change my mind a lot. What started as a simple project has snow balled. No one to blame but me.
I'm not much on naming cars. But I see the point of doing it. So I think I will name this little project

Relentless .

Thanks guys. Hope to get some more work done on it again this week. Decided I don't like the pieces for the dash I made so those will become scrap metal. Maybe brushed aluminum or Carbon fiber. Like I tell my customers if your trying to convince yourself you like some thing. You really don't so just scrap the idea and move on.

A little more work done tonight. The deck lid is finally starting to look pretty good. So I started back on the dash to fix some more ugly. Still have a couple more filler panels to add. Then I will move to the top to remove the speaker grill and defroster vents. May do a bead rolled panel on top. Just have to see what I come up with.
Started the rough filler work on some of the dash, Just tired of seeing all chopped up and welded every where.
