Far as I know the pulley cant tell the diffrence in engine size.

Yes I think they have different part numbers and are not the same.

Just check the depth, usually 318 and 340 the same.

It depends if the 318 pulleys are the same water pump style and have the same accessories as the 340 pulleys.

depends. they may or may not.. all depends if both motors use the same style water pump and all.. what year 318? what year 340?

depends.. you have pics of both motors? basically as long as they both use the 70-up water pump or 69-down water pump you'll be ok.
