hey quick q do any 400 cid motors have the dist in the rear of the block. ok I haven't gotten the nos off the block yet but until then. was told its a 400 block but has dist to rear ???

No, unless its a small block Chevy 400.
All Chrysler big blocks had the distributor in the front of the block angled toward the right fender.

Here's a pic of a 400. Note distributor hole next to the scraper.

All B and RB MoPars have the distributor at the front of the block.
B block engines: 350, 361, 383, 400.
RB or "Raised Block" engines: 383 ("Hi block" - 4.03 bore x 3.75), 413, 426w, and, 440
