Not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes.... I got a 71 340/4speed demon the other day and it has a rear window defroster hanging behind the back seat. Was this a factory option on demons? Just haven't seen one in another A-body yet. Also where can I decode my build-sheet so I can see what other options the car came with? Thanks FABO!!!
 
The rear defrost was a factory option on some.
You can decode your body tag by searching FABO for the decoder page.
I'll help look for it.
 
Thanks for the link I'll check it out at work. That brings me to yet one more question. Can you have a fendertag stamped legally? I have the title and buildsheet plus body numbers match. Is there somewhere you can send the info to Chrysler and they stamp one for you or is this a myth I heard?

From what I gathered its a special edition demon don't know why though. Here's the VIN minus the last few numbers LM29H1BXXXXXX. Is there a website where I can punch in the numbers off my buildsheet since it doesn't have a fendertag? All I gathered from the VIN is its a 71 demon 340/4BBL built in Hamtrack MI.
 
If you post a picture of the build sheet there are lots of people here that would be happy to decode it for you.
Any 340 Demon is a pretty special car BTW.
The rear window defroster is a pretty common option on northern cars for obvious reasons.....
At least half of the cars i have seen sold up here in Canada had them.
Air conditioning up here is not common on a bodies up here though.......
 
FWIW...If you had just a fan, Chrysler referred to it as a defogger, since there was no heating coil to melt ice. I had a '75 Valiant Brougham with the defogger, and a '76 Dart SE with the glass grid defroster.
 
It has the blower motor plus the in glass wires. The more I look at the car the more I like it. I like my white demon but it started its life as a slant 6. This one is originally a B-5 340 4 speed with the ralleye dash. It has alot of neat stuff or at least neat to me. I was impressed to see a trunk light if that explains the little details that I like. As soon as I figure out how to resize the pictures I'll put the buildsheet on this thread. Thanks for all the help guys.
