Rear Diff

I have a 73 Dart with what I believe to be a 7 1/4 rear diff. Are there any other larger diffs I could replace this with? I know the 8 3/4. But is there any other Mopar product that is interchangeable? Like something from a newer model that wont break the bank?

An 8.25 out of an A- Body will bolt right in if you use the U Bolts and the shock plates. You'll also need a shorter drive shaft.

You can use a 8 1/4 out of a 73-76 A-body. Or some have used 8 1/4 out of Jeep Cherokees to get a disc brake rear end.

Yes and no about the jeep rear end. They still use the a body rearend but get the rear disc, gears and sure grip unit from the jeep rear.
