i have a 1968 plymouth barracuda with a 8 3/4 rear end big bolt pattern.

my question is... What drum brake pads would i need to buy? are there different ones?

:coffee2::burnout:

Most likely you will have to measure the diameter and width of the inside of the drums. Probably a B body swap unless the axles were re drilled. Usually the shoes for a similar year coronet or belvedere will be what you need. 10" x 2.5" is the most common but they could have been upgraded to 11".

Yup, you're going to have to measure. The car has been converted to BBP, and it could be re drilled SBP axles (and therefore re drilled SBP brakes) or aftermarket BBP axles. And even then there are several different options for BBP brakes, 10x2.5, 11x2.5, 11x2, or even 11x3.

The drum should have the minimum diameter stamped on it, shouldn't have to measure that. Might as well measure the width of the current set of shoes though. And if the drum only has one bolt pattern on it then it's not a re-drilled SBP set up. ;)
