I want to convert to discs in back using Jeep Grand cherokee discs.
Has anyone done this using Green bearings and if so , how does this effect
the shimming to get correct rotor to caliper placement ?
My rear end and axles are at the rear end shop right now so I cant mock it up or visualize my options....

Thanks

It would help if you said which rear end you are using. The 8.25, it's a bolt on deal.

8 3/4..... my rear end guy is going to cut one down for me soon and I want to
let him know what specs ... If I remember correctly the green bearings use a snap ring to hold the bearings in place. In which case I may have to scrap the idea of going with the discs....

Do you plan on doing much street driving? If so you may want to use the original style tapered bearings. When the green bearings 1st came out in the MP catalog they were "race only" & they took that off later since they don't warantee anything & everything they sell is for "off road". I had to help a friend who lost his axle on a country road because the bearing failed. It gouged his wheel well, ruined his center section & had to rebuild his whole rear because of it. It was lucky for him that I had a spare car for him to use while I dropped his parts off.
