Is there trick to getting the old one off and the new on?

I tried a pair of pliers and it's not moving. I don't want to break it!

Should be able to squeeze those tabs in and pull it out to the right (of your picture). Unless it's totally rusted or painted in there. Maybe soak it in WD40 or something. But... Why are you worried about breaking it if it's no good?

Once in a while a line wrench will geter done / serve such a purpose.

You need to squeeze the pee out of those metal tabs to release it.:D
A small hose clamp works.

I prefer the adjustable ones. I don't remember, NAPA?

I believe some of the parts outfits list them as an alternative replacement

I managed to get it out! I couldn't get the line wrench or the hose clamp trick to work, so I put it in a vise and wacked it with a hammer and it popped right out. To install the new one I used a 7/16 socket and gave it a couple good wacks with that same hammer and it went right in, and believe it or not it's still in one piece no worse for the banging:BangHead:

Thank as always for your help guys!
