Restoration of my 70 Dart Swinger (Germany)

-
Hey Brothers,

long time ago since my last update! Sorry for that!! I´m so fu***** busy but now i will get more smoother, because i will be a DADDY in Dec.!!!!

But for now, here is the big update:

The Cam break in was so so...i adjusted the Valves in the wrong cycle so the Engine sounds like a bag of screws shaking:bootysha:

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyXwvLh59YY"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyXwvLh59YY[/ame]

But after that i get the Engine home and adjusted them right.

Then was the time for mount the powerplant. My ordered Converter is still not here and so i get a converter from a good Friend of mine just for getting this finish! It´s a 10" and nowbody knows which brand it is.

Congradulations on the new engine. Make you that you adjust that transmission kickdown before you drive it. We need a burnout video now.

Hey Badart, i listen on you!8)8)

New Video Material! That 340 build runs really strong:cheers:

Here a small update with the progress.

The 340 is fresh retracted. Last Weekend was the first day for a real kick down and pedal to the Metal!
Man that thing goes really strong! I didn´t expect so much pressure behind it!
The RHS Heads make real good Power!

So on Sept. 3-4. is the Quartermile in Rotenburg.
I will make a new update when i have a Timeslip. And then with new Videos from the Strip!

Also have new Tire Combo on the Dart8)

Thanks for the great video. That is cool. That 340 is strong. Keep us posted on the progress.

Not sure how I missed this. The car is looking great. I will have to take time at home to watch all the videos. SHHHHHHH I'm at work now.

Hey Guys,

after i drove the 340 a little while, i decided to make some more Power out of it.
So i did a lot of portwork to the Indyheads and choose another Cam.
Took the Voodoo 60403.
And a new Converter too. 9,5".

All this work was it worth!! The Combo with the portjob and the Cam an Converter was a really rigorous add of Power!
Unfortunatly i didn´t made a Video yet.
But anyway, the Car runs like hell!

You're a braver man than I to take a tool to those heads, god bless you my man!

Did to cc the ports before and after to make sure they have the same volumes? What'd you end up with?

Hey, no i didn´t take the cc. Just measured the runners and bowls a littlebit.
I took alot of metall out there.
So now it runs fantastic! There comes more and more Power as higher i turn it!:toothy7:

A Vid from today! The speedo is in km/h.

Nice! Hey I had a thought looking at the speedo in "km/h", if we were able to get a few of those in the states and have them calibrated to mph . . . that would be totally "unique" never seen a stock speedo on these old cars over 150 mph. Most probably the reason for this, other than most wont go 150 mph, is it would be down right frightful trying to go that fast in 90% of them . . . . nice MoPar!

Some New Pics of "it". Welded the Rims in the back from 5.5 to 7" wide, Bumblebee stripe, and the original Hood scoops are mounted.

btw, my first Time on the Strip with the first setup was 13,75sec:burnout:
It should be faster now but here in Germany is not a strip at each corner:wack:

Regards to all the FABO Lovers!

Hey Guys,
long time ago since my last post here. There are a lot of changes in the meantime, but the most important is this:
i decided to swap my Dart into a 4-Speed real Muscle Car:D
Also wanted a hydraulic Clutch setup in the Car and it should be cheap and not so horrible expensive like from Brewers or so.
So i was looking in the www for any infos and just found this Thread:

http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=33640&highlight=hydraulic+clutch

I tryed to get the Parts the User "Duster" was using and i get them really cheap
her in Germany for 44€!
Then i vary his setup a little bit and the result works really fine!
So many people just asking for the Master and Slave Cylinders.
These ones from the Thread above work really good!
Here are a few Pics and Vids:
