Rope length for replacing valve springs.

I did a video on changing springs with the heads on years ago, I use those rubber work out bands.

Yup, what post #25 said. You tap the retainer to loosen the keepers before you insert the screwdriver.....
 
I swear I fed a 318 magnum 6 ft. of 1/4” rope before it locked it up
 
What is the volume of the chamber?

How far in the hole is the piston.

That is all the rope volume you need.

And you do not need to fill it till it is locked up just enough that the valve can't fall in
