Was just wondering what kind of PRM people are turning on stock 360 rods. Have heard that they will take 7000 rpm all day, and have had other people tell me they won't take much more than 6000 rpm.

My machinist told me 6800-7000 wasn't a problem. Of course they need to be good and round and have better than stock bolts, i.e. ARP's or Mopar perf. bolts. I imagine balancing also helps.

I can turn 7000 with my stock rods as well, but I dont do it often. No problems yet but it does have ARP stuff all over it. I scared myself good when I did it the first time, thats for sure.

I had a 340 race motor that went to 7200rpms with re worked stock rods. The trick is to keep the pistons weight down.
