sb 727 and bb 272 tailshaft swap?

here awhile back I swapped a sb 727 tail shaft to my bb 727 rv trans, now the 727 drive shaft a buddy gave me...doesn't slide in... it fits a 727 he had laying around I checked...any ideas...

You did replace the output shaft on the RV 727, right? If so the 727 yoke should slide right on, I've done that swap myself a few times in the past.

Maybe you nicked the bushing?
