All of the media attention the violence receives doesn't help the situation much either. These nuts get it in their head that they will prove something to the world and that they will always be remembered. Unfortunately, that would be true because how many times do we relive the past violence in news clips when these things happen, in comparison to whenever something that is good and memorable happens.

Precisely. It has far more to do with that character disorder than the gun used. Unfortunately far too few people have your ability to cut through the BS and see the root cause.
