OK, I know some of you (maybe all) have hit the ever dripping caliper hose/caliper sealing washer. You've annealed the OEM copper, threw on the replacements (thinner and harder repop crap)....cranked it down and still....drip, drip, low pedal when sitting a few days.

What are the friggin options? (barring cracked housings, fittings or hardware)

1) swap over to softer aluminum washers. Softer, should seal, poor long term corrosion resistance. most motorcycles use them....but they are good weather machines. usually only found in metric sizes

2) get lucky and find some really soft thick copper ones. do they make them with a hollow core? sort of like motorcycle head pipe exh. rings?

3) use the hydraulic sealing washers. They have an rubber seal bonded to the ID of the washer (not the same as the ones were one face has rubber). readily available at hydraulic shops...or mcmaster carr.

Anyone have experience with option 3????????

No I haven't used the hyd. type washers. But it has been my experience that when I reuse the old ones I have very little problems. I work at a shop and have used this theory for years.

Aint that the truth.
