How is the shift shaft seal removed/installed on a 727? I can't seem to find the info anywhere. After half a dozen calls, I found a place that actually knew what I was talking about and had them in stock. I need to bring the old one in as they told me there are two different sizes.

Thanks

Remove the pan and valve body then pop the old one out with with a screw driver, reinstall by tapping in new one with the correct sized seal driver or socket.

There is a tool to remove it, Miller makes it as I believe Snap-On does also. In addition there is an installation arbor and a tool that presses it in. This is all done without removing the pan only the linkage levers.

You could remove the pan and valvebody though.

Looks like a handy tool. Didn't know they existed, sure beats removing the pan and valve body.
