Hi folks

Trying to determine tire sizes. I have a set of 7 inch wide slotted mags with 3 1/4 back spacing. I am considering using 215's all around since the originals would be slightly shorter with 205's. Does anyone have a straight on side profile of their Demon with 215's?

Thanks FABO

I don't have a photo but I like the idea of 70 series because they are taller, and maybe use 225/70/14 on the rear. Will spread out and look pretty good on a 7" rim.

And the demon/duster have such big rear wheelwells.

Are those 15x7’s with only 3.25” of backspace SBP?

If your Demon came with a 340, it should have been wearing E70-14s
An E was a 7.35" section
and the sidewalls were 70% of the section when mounted on a specified checking rim.
Thus; this tire should have been about
7.35 x 70% x 2 +14= 24.3 tall
In metric a 7.35 is 186.7 converts to a 185/70-14, which calculates to 24.2 tall.

a 215/70-14 calculates to 25.85 tall on a 6" checking-wheel.
On a 7", the section will be roughly .5inch larger, so the section becomes 227mm by the math, but could be 2.5 mm either way. This should not significantly affect the height.

At 3.25 backspace, your wheel has a .75" offset to the inside, which pushes the tire outboard, and so the 215 should not rub on anything, but you gotta check anyway, especially the bottom front corner of the front fender. and you gotta check it throughout it s suspension travel, not just at ride-height. and especially when backing up with the brakes applied, which will yank the wheel towards the front bumper.

It should be ok, but, you gotta check.

If your Demon was not a 340 car, it should have been wearing 6.95-14s
