I have been reading and am about to change my 66 Cuda to a 4 speed. What I am questioning is I have a 904 slip yoke stock and read that they changed the output splines in 68 so will I need a different yoke if I get a 68 and up 4 speed?

Yep, I'm going through this now. The 67 and up 833's use the larger one. I have the slip yoke and now locating all the small pieces. Good luck!

pntastar69 is correct. 904 used a different yoke than A833. A833 and 727 yokes are the same. There are two 727/A833 yokes available. One uses the small 7260 u-joint, and was mostly a small block application. The other uses the large 7290 U-joint, and was mostly big block application. Both fit the 4-speed, but you will likely need the smaller 7260 U-joint. The fit will be dictated by which drivehsaft you use.

Ok so I found a trans. with a build date of 9/28/71 so now I will be looking for a yoke that uses the small u-joint to put on my 66 driveshaft.

Nice move getting that 4-speed...way better than an OD. Yes you need an A833/727 yoke with the smaller U-joint.
Have you upgraded to an 8 3/4 rear? If so that driveshaft will be a bit long. 904/7.25. A833/8.75 shafts are shorter.

I bought an 8 3/4 last year thats waiting to be put in when I do the trans. You have been a great help on building a nice street car out of it.
