76 Dart with a S6 and 3 spd manual trans. My question is about the 2 links, on end of the Z-bar.

The link that goes from the pedal to the end of the Z bar is retained by a galvanized clip. The Z-bar end is ~ 7/16" round stock. The hole in the link is egg shaped and is much larger than the round stock part. I'm talkin like 1/16" clearance all around it. Its a very loose fit.

The link that is on the OTHER end of the Z bar, that pushes agains the fork is pretty much the same. (clutch adjuster rod) Maybe even LOOSER!.

1) how much slop, if any should there be?
2) how to correct it? brewers parts maybe?
3) who has replacement clips? (ya...brewers.....answering my owne question.)

4) anyone have a pict where the clutch adj. rod spring attaches?
thanks
Picts to follow tomorrow.....it may make things clearer!

There will be a tad bit of slop.

You answered your 3rd question in question 2 for the correct clips.
