SoCal Car ****

-
Do you have more pictures like this from of random older mopar out on the road? Not the ones like that other thread with cars in junkyard, backyards, or at Cruise-In's.

The cars pictures are most likely cars that don't get "brought out". They are just cars that get driven regularly.

These types of pictures of single cars just from radomly driving around. There many many more times you see cars of interest, but they just flash by. You just don't have time or are able to whip out a camera. Not that easy navigating through So Cal traffic while trying to get your camera out and wait for it to get ready to shoot.

Here's some So Cal Mopar Car ****...

Hey Steve, how did the car run at Willow Springs this past week?

Hey Steve, how did the car run at Willow Springs this past week?

Very good. Just need better tires and brakes.

Well.... I guess this is in So Cal and these pics are of Mopars being driven. And all the cars were driven to the track exect the Superbird.

All the Mopars pictured have full Hotchkis TVS suspension system upgrades.

Any of these FABO members cars form So Cal? Or recoggnize them?

The copper 67 Cuda is Alan Erland's.
Looks as though most of these were taken in The Valley ( US 101 , I-405 , CA 118 , I-210 , CA 134 ... ) and surrounding areas prior-and-post Spring Fling :glasses7: .

I recognise the Facel Vega . There's a French-Italian car show at Woodley Park every year as well ; that's where I first laid eyes upon a 383-powered French car  .
My dear friend is a Euro car nut ( and a damned fine bodyman as
well ! ) , and esp into Peugeot , Renault and Citroen. He has a Peugeot 205 GTI of 1985-1986 vintage which is the only one in the U.S. ; and a 1986 Peugeot 505 Turbo which was his street-road course ride for years .
He's like me : he likes ALL makes and models :burnout:!

Thanks to all whom have shared these awesome pics =D>

Those pictures date from 2007 to current. Actually I think more like 2004. I think I've moved them and the date got changed. They are taken from various points from Santa Barbera to Huntington Beach.

Facel Vega was in a detail shop in Thousand Oaks.

Here's a 450SS Ghia that was pulled out of a garage sitting since 1984? or so. 1 of 53 or so built on a 66 Barracuda chassis. HiPo 273, 8 3/4 rear end, 727, carter AFB, KH 4 piston disk brakes, torsion bars, 66 Barracuda leaf springs, etc, etc. So it's actually an A-body

Remember there was a concours bright red one at Spring Fling on Sunday this year.

Awesome pics.. I'm my neighborhood just about every other house has a classic in the driveway..

I always hated how most of my car buddies call California..Chevafornia lol
(then again you could almost get 90% of your parts from 7/11)

I hope my mopar will grace the streets :burnout:

I've got pics of all sorts of wierd cars. But was just posting the Mopar ones for here.

Here's some odd euro stuff you don't see parked on the curb often. Actually, it just next to a shop/storage for high end cars. They are just jockeying cars.

I really like that 450SS Ghia ! Very slick ; simple , yet it is uniquely styled .

I believe that the reason why one doesn't see many MoPars in public here in Ca , is that the cars' owners are afraid to operate 'em on these congested roads / highways / freeways / expressways !
Too many distracted drivers (cell phones , GPS , fooling with the radio)
and sketchy drivers ( on I-15 we have "casino types" which operate their cars at a rip-snortin' 60 MPH in the passing lane ; then there's the UNwelcomed NAFTA types ).

I read in one of my Shelby books that Carole actually looked at using the 273 in the Cobra however decided on the small block Ford because the distributor was in the front of the engine. Looks like the Italian car makers firgured it out. The 450 at Spring Fling was a nice example.

Triple T-Bird sighting and a kooky pic of a nice Comet.

The Mopars must still be in hibernation.

Great pictures. There were two cars that brought back memories. A 1948 Packard; that's what I used to get my drivers license and a 1963 Buick Special...I had one back in1965....aluminum V8, 215 cid with a 4 barrel and a 4 speed. It was a peppy car and fun to drive.
Thanks for the post!

Some more.

I recognize that white 69 Road Runner!

He's a member on Moparts. He's brought it to Spring/Fall Fling and friday cruise to Malibu.

Do you do a lot of driving around So Cal for work? I see pics from all over (shop with 323 area code).

I love to cruise, so I drive my poo all around for pleasure. I hang out in a barn for a living and clean toilets. I do get around though. I visit the 909 a lot when I go wake boarding.

Finally...a Mopar...big foe-doe Coronet 500 driven by a youngin', probably all of 17 yrs old. Hope he knows what he has.
