67 Dart, 273 2barrel
Was the distributor painted from the factory? I assume it was from seraching here. Any thoughts on leaving it bare?
How do you get the paint and crud out of all of the crevices?
As long as I have it out should I rebuild it, or are there parts I should replace? Running petronix in stock distributor(aluminum)
If so where do I get the parts?

I'm not sure, but I don't think distributors were ever painted except by overspray.

I'm not a fan of Pertronix, only because if it dies, you'd better have your own spares, because parts stores may not carry 'em.

I assume it's still breaker points

I'd be either getting a Mopar breakerless or other aftermarket dist, and either wire up a GM HEI model (easy) or spring for a Mopar electronic ignition kit.
