sources for starter wiring

When I pulled the engine I couldn't get the small nut off of the starter, so I just cut the wire, thought I will just get a repro., just checked year one, and ouch! $155. Is there another source anyone knows of, or should I just splice the wire back together.

if you are getting a new starter you may want to get a mini starter. do a search on here for "mini starter" and then go to autozone. i think i paid 85 for mine and it saves about 10 pounds and has more torque or whatever.

Not sure if I would resplice the wire since it does carry higher amperage when used. Is it too short to crimp on a new end?
