speedometer

need some help from the ring and pinion gurus. i know i have to change speedo gears, but about what difference would it be on the speedometer if going from 2.76 gears to 2.94s with 26'' tires? just dont want any tickets till i have a chance to change out the speedometer gears. thanks, dave.

According to my chart you'll need a 30 tooth gear. Should have a 28 tooth in it now.

BTW: with the 2.94 gears your speedometer will read high with the 2.76 ratio pinion so if you do what the speedo says you don't have any concerns getting a ticket. More than likely you'll be the slow guy on the road

thanks fishy, just changed over to disk brakes and 8 3/4 rear and have'nt had a chance to round up a speedo gear yet. wish they were 2.76s like the old 71/4 has, but you use what you have on hand. thanks again, dave.
