I will be doing a spring perch relocation since the 8 3/4 I found for my '72 Duster is off a truck and the rear needs narrowing and perches need to be moved anyway.

My question is this: Does a relocation severely (or not so severely) impact road manners and handling due to the spring being relocated further inboard? Since I haven't started on the Duster yet, I can't visualize whether or not the shocks get relocated too, do they?

The shocks will be more vertical as the springs are moved in. This can depending on the height of the car get close to bottoming the shock. My Valiant only has about 2" of travel before bottoming. This isn't and issue with me because I really only drag race the car and most of the time the suspension is lifted because of acceleration.

The car will have more body roll with the same rate of leaf spring because they will be closer to the centerline of the car.
