i'm restoring my steering column on my 68 cuda. i have dissasembled everthing for blasting and paint. i cant seem to be able to get the turn signal switch wires to come out of the plug. is that how you get the wires thru the column trim? or, do you dissasemble from the switch end?

Half of the connector stays with the switch and is threaded though the column.

are you saying you dont take the lower plug off, and to sepperate the switch itself? leaving the plug on, there is no way it will go thru the column trim.

No you have to take the terminals out of the connector shell. There is not enough room to pull the connector out assembled

Go here

and download the 69 shop manual, closest thing we have to a 68:

Then go to page 19-34, showing service procedures on the column:

Sorry
