StuBBle has left the field.

Today I stripped a bunch more of the parts car out. Those dashes are a pain with AC tubes in the way. I’m gonna install the front electric tinted windows. I did the driver rear yesterday. There are differences. The glass itself is the same but the hardware is different. Again I imagine 71 being the changeover year it was unique. You can see the diff in the pics below. The first stuff is 71. The next is 74. The guides, tracks, slides are different and the 71 has some fancy plastic guides mounted to the tracks.
The design is the same. But the mechanicals changed slightly.

Well, waiting for a part and work always gets in the way of progress. I bought a “Sherman” patch panel. The only one available in any supplier anywhere. So I took a chance on quality. Turned out to be a Goodmark piece that was delivered. I can work with that.

It started out like this:

Came off looking like this:

Happily inside looked like this:

Way better than I was expecting. Pleasant surprise. A little panel beating and I should be able to make this side look as good as the driver side.

It is getting cold out again so I will be starting to work on StuBBle again. In the meantime I went to pick up something for the Challenger. It came with a 6 way seat and I found a base cheap. $400. That’s cheap as far as I know. So I got this.

But while I was looking around and at his Barracuda, these were hanging on the wall! He only sold them to me because they would go on a car. What a score that day. $50 for the emblems and $60 for the plate. StuBBle is that much closer to wearing a tie like a gentleman.

I finally got a piece of frame rail to replace the crunched area. It has a small repair to complete and then I will section it in later on. Gotta get back to that quarter.

Thank you Steve. I think this was a Goodmark panel. It’s actually a pretty ok piece!

Then I had to make a piece.

I woulda been done last night but the air compressor switch failed. Gotta love Princess Auto. Returned and replaced for free!

are you spraying the back side of the repair panels with weld through primer before welding them on? at least they won't start rusting from inside without you realising.
neil.

Yes I have weld through primer. I think it is zinc based or something similar. It’s copper colored. My pictures are not always in the order I do things! But you can see it in some of them.

Back to some older jobs that got left by the wayside. When I got the donor roof skin, it was not perfect. But it’s absolutely beautiful considering they don’t repop these!

Next is the driver side.

I changed my mind and declared today a later date! Some like 80. Some like 40. I like 36 grit scratches. My glass is old and the store didn’t have any at the moment so I’m trying Metal 2 Metal. I haven’t used it before. I want it for the roof seams anyway.
