The Rattacuda was born .

agree w/ the bomber :
no patina, looks getto ! sand the rust off as you feel like it, and primer it as you go. you might even get a few offers on it! will certainly look better all one color, regardless of the color.-------just my "not so humble opinion !"

Whatever works for you, I'm not trying to get "offers". Some are, I'm not. I like Blue, you like Red, someone else likes Black. Certain cars ooze "cool" with a weathered look. It's like faded jeans...

The "general rule" with rat rods is 64 and prior. I agree with the no rust all one color. It will look better.

Asa, just give it a bath and put some black rattle can primer on it,
your white cowboy hat will stand out better.lol

Well alittle update . Things are moving but moving slowly. Found out none of the hard lines could be saved on her. So shes now got all new lines. Rubber and hard. I will be making a trip to see her some time soon and drop off some parts for her . after all this i sure hope the trans made it lol . He said she pulled her self in the shop. But he didnt let her run much longer as shes low on blood lol. Its hard for me to be so far away from my car as No ones ever worked on my stuff but me and my Dad and brother.

Great to see! The Rattacuda already looks so much happier. I'd get after it with some white rustoleum and a roller, the patina look is done, a clean, bright palette will give the car a boost and you too Asa.

It's getting closer to driving down the road. Good work Asa.... Keep on it....

Get healthy, Asa.. At least ,you got help....Sometimes, a helping hand increases your revival in interest's... Keep the fire lit, brother..

hey man, glad you're back! no one will be able to wipe that SMILE off your face when ya driving it!

I know everyone has advice for that surface rust, BUT......go to a TrueValue hardware and spend $9.99 for a qt of OSPHO, it is a phophoric a cid based product. pic you a panel and go after the surface rust with nothuin coarser than 80 grit , just by hand if necessary..... and clean it up some. or run a wire cup hooked to a right angle grinder,,,, wipe it down with OSPHO and ley it sit outside in the weather is fine. see what it does to stop the death.
BUT, do not even think of applying any type primer or paint till it has TOTALLY dried and cured and be warned, I have seen some tractor enamels puker some applied over it especially if not cured. if you like the "rust" look, the Ospho will kill the rust, leave a protective coat of ???? and will still have that rust look but the color of the rust will be different. I say, just try it, Mikie, you will like it!
doesn't it help to have car friends to hang with!??
