Well it won't hurt to do the tops of the piston and chambers, you would want to start with very conservative timing like 8 to 12 to start short burst check plugs. If using a plate system you may have to get a pro to flow and size the jets as I think most flow/jet tables go to 350hp . Good luck.I get that; truth be told, this is hypothetical.......
Yep, the coating won't help if the tune up gets sideways.
The coating is only as good as what's underneath. The coating does help prevent hot spots, but the issue you will see is detonation. The aluminum underneath can dent, and the coating can come off at that point, ring lands can collapse, etc.
I'd definitely use the anti scuff coating on the skirts no matter what!
