My motor is currently apart at the moment. I was considering changing top end and I stumbled across a supercharger for a Smallblock for sale. Now I'm thinking about dropping compression and sticking with the heads I have.
Couple questions
- will I lose throttle response on low rpm
- approximately how much weight does it add
- approximately how much power to run the blower?

The supercharger I found is a powerdyne bd11a, they don't have great reputation but seems like if their ran under 9 psi of boost they do ok.
My current build
416, all forged, hydraulic roller, hand ported eddies.

-I'm not a fan of that blower. If you have decent flowing heads it will be very hard to spin a bd11a safely and get 9psi on a 416.

-You won't lose throttle response but if your cam and converter aren't built for boost it will be a dog down low.

-Weight isn't a huge deal when you look at potential power gain. If you went from a full iron small block and changed to aluminum heads, intake, timing cover and water pump you'd still be ahead after adding blower, brackets and intercooler.
