i have a 69 dart. sbp. stock suspension with newly aquired duster ralley wheels from 1970. what size 60 series tire can i run? thanks

14's or 15's? 14's if they were stock.

I suggest that you go to the "Forums" section and study the combinations that are out there . there are so many it will make your head spin . It depends on your wheels . Are they 14, 15, 16 . what is the backspace ? How wide are the rims ? Take into account the bulge of the tire at normal pressure . This is the widest point . Take into account also the overall height . Not all 60 series are the same height . 235's are safe . I can't speak to 245's or 255's Good luck , Tom

245/60's tight 235/60's golden. guessing they're 14's with the sbp?

I am assuming they are 14 x 5.5 wheels. Then 215 to 225 , on a 5.5 rim is about it.
When asking , you should know what size rims you have , how wide makes all the difference.

With stock rallye wheels? If they're really factory stock rallye wheels they're 14x5.5", so the widest recommended tire for that rim width is going to be a 215/70/14. Even a 215/60/14 is supposed to have a 6" wide rim, minimum. So, what tire you can fit in the wheel well and what you should actually put on that rim are two different things. At least according to the tire manufacturer's recommendations.

Looks like Frank had the same idea at the same time :D

You will find that the front wheel clearance will be tricky. It seems no two 69 Darts are alike for wheel spacing. You could probably run a 235 (maybe a 245) under the rear, but a 215 could end up being a little tight in the front. Knowing the backspace is also key.

I ran 255 60 15 on a dart they were tight but never rubbed on a 7" wheel with 4 1/4" back space. 14s can be trickier because in my opinion the 235 or 245 60 14s look too short for the car. If I was going to run 14s I would go with 225 70 14.
