I need to move the rearend back 1/4". Can I space the front hangers backwards to achieve this? I could cut up some shock plates and use those I think.
 
Sounds like too much work. Just drill a new hole in your perch. I don't think you can do a quarter, but a half is probably doable. If you're dead set on a quarter you may have to weld the old hole shut so they don't overlap.
 
pretty sure someone makes spring hanger shims. 1/8" don't see a reason you couldn't stack two of them.
I would use longer grade 8 bolts when doing it.
 
Yep a spacer sounds a lot easier than drilling and welding, and I would use the same bolts they should be long enough.

I done this a lot...one spacer A-ok with the factory bolts...with two spacers, I felt it needed longer bolts in the hangers...just JHO.
