Hi guys,
I am changing to summit k6901 cam kit Duration 276/286, Lift .441/.441,after wiping a lobe on comp thumper (probably due to not enough assembly lube or too much beer or both) This is a street car and weekend cruiser so i am not looking for high tech shave a tenth off et's
advice. Just wondering if its worth the time degreeing the cam in or put it in there straight up? And what will be gained.
Thanks,
Jody

Here is the setup:
340 standard bore honed and ringed stock pistons and rods
j heads bone stock
low profile dual plane intake (mystery brand)
holley street avenger 670 72 front 80 rear
pro-comp hei
hooker comp headers
2500 stall converter
727 with shift kit
3:23 8 3/4 SG

it is very worth it on any engine...

when i assembled my slant i have a Stock forged crank, Erson Solid Cam, And JP billet double roller chain...

i had to install it 4* RETARDED to get 4* ADVANCED!

so your straight up could be anywhere...

Yes, it's worth doing it on any camshaft, regardless of size or manufacturer.

Yes degree it that's really the only way to get the full benefit of
the cam

Besides what "cudascott" said, it will tell you if the cam card matches the cam you installed.
