Are you supposed to apply sealer between the convertible top tacking strip and the mounting flange? or leave it unsealed so any rainwater can drain into the trough all the way around???

Jim here is a picture of the foam at the curtain retainer strip. It is the same white foam as they used on some of the firewall gaskets. I think it is really there as an antirattle more so that a seal. It is one strip on the rear and then on the sides it is individual around each hole.

After seeing the above photo of the original top to dutchman panel seal, I recalled seeing a roll of white foam seal strip in one of my many parts boxes. Low and behold it was the foam strip for this location!!

Now installed and the top is bolted in place.

Looks good. Do you remember where you got the seal?

It is DMT p/n AXX6769VK01. It also has the foam tape to go under the windshield top trim piece, but it is a different material than what is on your original Cuda. The foam tape in this kit is only 1/8" thick and is a dense black foam material.

Thanks, After i posted that I thought it might be DMT and checked their eBay site and found it. I plan on pulling the other gasket off and sending the whole thing to James to copy.
