I tried to helicoil on car but was unsuccessful, can i remove lug and reweld ? I think removing t/c would be the best way. Thanks for the help

They get welded on all the time, just a few tacks then a few more. Just not a long hot warping bead. Could potentially do it in the car with the flex plate holding the new tab in place if you dont have the time or height to pull the trans. Remember these are balanced so any crazy sized lug or weld bead mass will affect the neutral balance of the convertor.

Interesting. where do you get new lugs, or do you cut, drill, tap a hunk of same sized steel stock?

Or you could change out the converter. Stock rebuilds are around $100.

I drilled my converter out to use 7/16 20 flex plate to crank bolts. I had to cut the heads to the same thickness as the flex plate to converter bolts on the lathe so the wouldn't hit the block. I have a bunch of extra bolts I made if you need them to go that route. $1.00 each plus stamp
