Torsion Bar Problems

I have a '73 Scamp, and I am having a hard time getting the left side bar in. I forgot to mark it before I took it out. Any suggestions??

I had a problem like what you are having. I found I was trying to put the right on the left. After I had the correct one, it went right in. Just a thought in case you had a brain cramp like I did.

I have it on the correct side..when i put it in, the adjustment screw is either to high or to low

So I take it that you can't get the correct road height setting? The only one I saw with that problem had a rear anchor that was previously broken and rewelded back in place at the wrong clock setting.
