I have a Derale Transmission cooler that I want to mount Vertical and NOT across the radiator as it has AN inlet and outlet which I would like facing downwards for neatness of my braided lines. Standard hard lines obviously were run as flat as possible to the radiator so was wondering if there would be any problem with pressure from trans to constantly feed around the cooler.

I don't have the least idea what I just read, but the answer is "no."

That won't matter one bit because it's a pressurized flow.

mounted vertically with the inlet and outlet at the bottom may drain it completely every time
you shut the car down...and continue to syphon.
..but that may happen anyway

Continuing to "syphon" can't happen but it could drain back a little when not running just like almost every other system does.
Not because of how it's mounted though.

I can't believe this is even a discussion or a concern.

Drainback would not be an issue anyway because the cooler would be refilled way before it was needed to cool the trans oil. Also if your worried about an air pocket being trapped in the cooler because of it's inlet/ outlet orientation , don't worry, it will will fill up and bleed any air out. Also stay off the XXXX before you post next time..
