Hey all - what kind of transport options exist out there for getting a car 115 miles? Car carriers are quoting a minimum of like $350 - are there any cheaper options? I'm trying to get a vehicle from Maryland to New Jersey. Would a local tow company be cheaper?

$350 isn't a bad price considering the cost of fuel. On a recent move from St. Augustine Fl. To Macon, Ga. (roughly 5 hours of driving) I rented a one way trailer from U-haul, and it cost me $300.00 plus tax for the trailer, plus I had to tow it using my own gas.

As with anything, shopping around might find you some better prices, though.

I would definitely just drive it - unfortunately it's about a 2-2.5 hour drive to the other side of Philly with traffic and I'm moving in a couple of weeks - don't have the free afternoon to do it.
