Im getting ready to have my truetrac and gears installed, i need to make sure ive got all the correct parts on hand. This is a 8.75 489 case, 3.91 gears and true trac unit. The rear is currently a 2.76 open. Does this require special size carrier bearings? Does anyone have a link for a good master kit that will work w/the truetrac? I already have a pinion spacer/shims, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance:burnout:

The truetrac uses the standard carrier bearings for the 489, Don't take it apart, use the cheap wal mart gear oil or oil with no additives, no synthetic gear oil, and no Lucas oil.

It's simple keep it that way. Good plain oil and the best bearings.

If you have unanswered questions, get on Eaton's web site and ask. E-mail or call.

Timken bearings from Raytech, or from Raytech through Summit Racing.
