Trunk seal

Working on my 66 dart and it's time to install the trunk seal. Just wanted to check where the seal should be put together. I was planning on the 2 ends to be just behind the latch at the rear of the car. Is this the correct position for the start/stop of this seal.

The gap is at the bottom, by the latch, as you stated. Good luck

The original seals were precut with a lip that extended over into the trunk area. Depending upon which style of seal you purchased, it may or may not have this lip. Not going to affect the purpose of the seal. But back in the day, the seal would usually start approximately 2 to 3 inches to the right of the center of the trunk.
