Spent the weekend at Qlipsé Raceway Park here in Eastern Washington. Sadly Sunday some serious gremlins reared there ugly head in the timing system so the racing was cancelled. Refunds/vouchers for next race were handed out. Track prep, however, looked pretty damn good to the knucklehead with the camera (me). While back QRP had a visit from the Pacific Raceways Prep guy. Jim Black was also up here a week or so ago to further the training.

We went to a Nitro Match Race at Irwindale Raceway back in the mid 70s. Steve Evans of TV announcing fame was the track announcer. Steve had just finished telling the fans about the track's new timing system and the new Christmas Tree suspended above the ground to keep it out of harm's way. This little Topolino Altered makes it's way to the lights, The Blue Baron was it's name, we had seen it before and knew it was a runner. He and his competition get staged and the tree gets lit. On the green Blue Baron does a monster wheelie, quickly turning into a one wheelie and it launched into the brand new suspended tree  Hits the tree flips over, lands on it's roof, driver gets out unharmed :steering::thumbsup: . Track crew only gave us about a half hour for the beer lines while they scurried around and put the old tree back to work :realcrazy:
