turn signals worked until "helper" decided to wire key on(new tach) to the turn signal relay and worked until signals were activated and the tach jumped in tune to the turn signal. I rewired to the fuse box but now the turn signals do not work. Are they fused ? will the turn signal flasher take them out if shot ? All lights/brake lights /headlights work except turn signals.

Any ideas are apprecated

QUESTION numba ONE What year/ make/ model are we workin' on?

QUESTION numba TEU Does the car have a pretty much factory harness, and "how hacked up" do you imagine it to be, or has it been re-wired with "Painless" or some other aftermarket harness?

The turn signal flasher is supplied power from a fuse, so with the key in "run" take your test light or meter and remove the flasher. You should have power to one of the two wires at the flasher.

If so, the flasher probably is bad. If you have 4 way flashers, you might be able to switch the two temporarily to see if that fixes the problem

If you do NOT have power, you may have zapped a fuse, or if you were messin' around in the box, and if this is a typically legacy vehicle, there might be rusted/ corroded/ loose connections at the fuses or in the junctions in the back of the fuse box.

72 demon...stock harness.4 speed..I'll most likely start with the fuse box as that is where the "key on" wire for the tach is run. A believer in looking at the last place I screwed with.

Hate working the fuse box as it's not in the best place

Thanks

My computer is "pissed" from all the work it did to display chapter 8. Thought I nedded a fire extinguisher....lol....Thanks...fuse or flasher and I didled with both

i have the same problem like this guy every works on my car expect the signals and ignition.if u have rusted/corroded or loose connections in the back of the fuse box.how do u fix that?

I hve located the problem at the fusebox.....the connector on one end does not allow the fuse to seat properly and when I adjust it...it works for a while then craps out. I will jumper it from another like source and see if that works and stays working......always an adventure with the old iron...You gotta love them
