Here is my project. Not a A body but still a mopar. It is a 70 challenger with a R5P7 that I am installing a pair of NRE mirror image turbos. Since this is a turbo section I will keep it to the engine/ turbo build.

The engine started as a truck series power plant. I changed the pistons over to a turbo friendly ring height, ring thickness and compression spec. Bullet cams re-ground to be a little more turbo friendly.

Updated the intake with bungs to run a Holley EFI system. Using a 102mm TB and 160lb inj.

Then the fabrication of all the exhaust to the turbos. This is so time consuming and still going on. This was the manifolds:

Got the hot side built to the turbos and the outlet side done. Working on tying in the wastegates.

Hell yea I’m in for this ride. Nice fab work so far.

Bad ***, I was just talking about this and how awesome it would be of a build, put a 6 speed behind it let her rip, hunts some exotics on the straight a ways.

I had to look this up. You probably have more in just the basic engine than I will in my whole car!!

I had traded some stuff for this engine. So I thought it would make a fun project.

That thing is gonna be bitchin'! I , for one, can't wait to hear it. Like on full power, at RPM. Holy **** that's going to be awesome!!!!

So what kinda power numbers are you huntin for?

Badass build for sure!

I am in Nampa.

Should be in the 1000-1200 with low boost and E85.
These things are very minimalist when it comes to over engineering the parts beyond what they were designed for. Do not really want to blow it up figuring out the limit.

Beautiful work! Have you thought about plumbing the air intake into the cowl to grab cooler air than is available where they currently draw air from?

I was visualizing a pair of insulated intake ducts plugging into your cowl with a large flat air filter or two mounted in the cowl with a quick release top access plate fabricated into the cowl opening. Done right, it would look cool and reduce air intake temperatures significantly, don't you think?

What are the specs on those turbos?

They are 64mm units from Nelson Race Engines.

As for the cold air intake, I am just trying to not cut anything up on the car. Maybe some day a different owner would want it with a different setup. I figured if intake temps are high I can build a intake system from the rally hood scoops(opened up). On my Cuda the turbos are aimed the other way and there was no room for air cleaners so I flipped this set.

I hear you on that one lol should come by again and hear mine, got it running finally. Sorry I forgot to have you come over to check everything over with me.

Matt,
Yeah, I will need to come by one day and check it out.
