Types of differentials and what to use.

Just curious on why there isn't a sticky on types of rear axle differentials and best application for each type. I feel like next to cams and carburetor size, this is another area where people new to the hobby can make a poor decision and be unhappy with the results.

Well in a way there is. THe rear axle size thread is a sticky as is the 8.8 Ford rear end conversion thread.
 
I'm talking about the types of differentials like open, limited slip, and locked. Also maybe experiences with different types of limited slips and locked differentials.

An example that I think most people don't talk about enough is the pros of open differentials.

All that info is in threads about differentials. No specific one was ever stickied. If you search around and find a good one I can make it a sticky. post the link here in a reply to me.
